

REGULATIONS:
I. Purpose
To identify the strongest Lithuanian athletes and form the Lithuanian kata national team to participate in the qualification competitions for the 2027 World Karate Championship, which will take place on October 4, 2026, in Riga.
II. Venue, time, registration, weigh-in, referees seminar
1. Date – July 26, 2026 (Sunday);
2. Venue – "Raganė" camp, Monciškės g. 28A, Palanga;
3. 11:00 AM – referees meeting;
4. 11:00–11:30 AM – registration commission;
5. 12:00 PM – start of the competition.
III. Participation conditions, rules, program
KATA events
- Qualifying matches – kata drawn: Gekisai Dai, Gekisai Sho, Yantsu, Tsuki no kata, Saiha;
- Quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals – freely chosen kata: Seipai, Kanku, Seienchin, Sushiho, Garyu;
- If there are eight or fewer participants in a match, 1 round will be conducted performing kata drawn from the qualifying kata list;
- Age: athletes born on or before October 4, 2008. Members of the U21 national team for 2026 can also participate in the qualifiers.
European championship individual kata event medalists have already secured their right to participate in the tournament in Riga and do not participate in these qualifiers.
Regardless of the number of competitors, there will be contests for third place in all events.
IV. Funding
The costs of athletes’ participation are covered by municipalities, sports centers, clubs, and other organizations.
No registration fee is applied.
V. Registration of participants and applications
Participant registration is conducted in the Kumite Technology information system at: https://kumitetechnology.com
Registration deadline – until July 19, 2026.
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS FOR THE REGISTRATION COMMISSION:
- valid athlete medical certificate (form 068/a);
- Budo passport (the Budo passport is valid only when fully completed, with the athlete's photo and a valid 2026 EKO stamp;
- valid training certificate from the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency for athletes (valid for 2 years).
