International Full Contact Karate Tournament “BATUMI OPEN – 2026” for Children
“Grand Prix” among athletes U18 and for +18 Adults
November 6–8, 2026

1. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The tournament aims to:
* Development and promotion of Fullcontact karate in Georgia;
* Identification of promising athletes;
* Establishment and strengthening of friendly relations among athletes;
* Promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Tournament Schedule
The tournament will be held in Kumite from November 6–8, 2026, at the Mukhran Vakhtangadze Batumi Sports Palace,
located at 15 Leonidze Street, Batumi, Georgia.
November 6 – Arrival and accommodation of participants, registration, verification by the Mandate Commission, and
weigh-in for all weight categories, from 13:00 to 20:00.
Weight category:
U-12 — 10–11 years, born in 2014–2015
Boys: Girls:
-35 kg; -40 kg; -45 kg; -50 kg; +50 kg 35 kg; -40 kg; +40 kg
Qualifying bouts: 1.5 min + 1 min
Semi-final and final bouts: 1.5 min + 1 min + 1 min
U-14 — 12–13 years, born in 2012–2013
Boys: Girls:
-40 kg; -45 kg; -50 kg; -55 kg; +55 kg -40 kg; -45 kg; +45 kg
Qualifying bouts: 1.5 min + 1 min
Semi-final and final bouts: 1.5 min + 1 min + 1 min
U-16 — 14–15 years, born in 2010–2011
Boys: Girls:
-50 kg; -55 kg; -60 kg; -65 kg; +65 kg -45 kg; -50 kg; +50 kg
Qualifying bouts: 1.5 min + 1.5 min
Semi-final and final bouts: 1.5 min + 1.5 min + 1 min
U-18 — 16–17 years, born in 2008–2009
Boys: Girls:
-60 kg; -65 kg; -70 kg; +70 kg -55 kg; +55 kg
Qualifying bouts: 2 min + 2 min
Semi-final and final bouts: 2 min + 2 min + 2 min
Adults — 18+
Men:
-60 kg; -70 kg; -80 kg; +80 kg; Absolute Weight Category
Women:
-55 kg; -65 kg; +65 kg; Absolute Weight Category
Qualifying bouts: 3 min + 2 min
Semi-final and final bouts: 3 min + 2 min + 2 min
Competition Schedule
November 7 – Competition among athletes under 18 years of age, through to the finals: 10:00
November 8 – Finals for athletes under 18 years of age and qualifying bouts for adult athletes (18+): from 10:00
Semi-final and final bouts for adult athletes (18+): from 15:00
Awards Ceremony: November 8, from 18:00
The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the WKO Shinkyokushinkai
Sayonara Party
Sayonara Party will be organized for heads of sports delegations, Referees and Adults athletes.

Mandate Commission
The head of each delegation must submit the following documents to the Mandate Commission:
* Official application/list of participating athletes;
* Copy of the athlete’s identity document;
* Medical certificate confirming the athlete’s fitness to participate.
Athletes aged 10–11, 12–13, 14–15 and 16–17 years must have a clean Karate Gi and a groin protector.
Before entering the competition area, each athlete is required to wear appropriate protective equipment, including a
protective headguard, light gloves, and a groin protector.
Note
The Mandate Commission reserves the right to make amendments to the weight categories, if necessary.
Athletes who do not complete the registration and verification process with the Mandate Commission will not be
allowed to participate in the tournament.
Each athlete must provide a valid medical certificate confirming their fitness to participate in the competition, duly
certified by a physician.
The deadline for registration is September 15, 2026

. PARTICIPANTS
The tournament is open to athletes from Georgia and invited athletes from foreign countries.
TOURNAMENT MANAGEMENT
Overall management and organization of the tournament shall be carried out by the Mukhran Vakhtangadze Batumi
Sports Palace, the Adjara Fullcontact Karate Federation, the Department of Sports of Adjara, and the Georgian National
Fullcontact Karate Federation.
REFEREEING PANEL
The tournament will be officiated by a qualified panel of referees approved by the Georgian National Fullcontact Karate
Federation.
Referee uniform: blue shirt, black trousers, and white bow tie.
6. TOURNAMENT EXPENSES
During the tournament, the Adjara Fullcontact Karate Federation will cover the accommodation expenses, including
breakfast, for three nights for one referee, one coach, and one delegation leader from each invited foreign sports
delegation.
All representatives of participating sports delegations are required to stay at the official hotel recommended by the local
federation — LLC “IBS”, where the athletes’ weigh-ins, referees’ and coaches’ seminars, and the Mandate Commission
will also be held.
Members of sports delegations arriving at Batumi International Airport will be provided with transportation services.
The participation fee is EUR 35 per athlete under 18 years of age. Participation in the tournament is free of charge for
athletes aged 18 and over.
Travel, accommodation, and meal expenses for all other participating teams shall be covered by the respective
delegating organizations.
Accommodation rates at the official hotel, including breakfast:
* Single room — EUR 70 per night
* Double room — EUR 70 per night
* Triple room — EUR 90 per night
7. AWARDS
Winners and prize-winning athletes will be awarded diplomas, trophies, and medals of the appropriate level.
