We are proud to organize the 34th open European championships kyokushin karate.

This year we will again start up at 10:00 with youth (girls/boys) matchmaking and mini pools (max 3 persons).

Afterwards we continue the program with the adult tournament with the following divisions:
2 divisions for the lady’s
3 divisions for the men
Veteran matchmaking/poule
Shidokan rules match(es)
Prokarate match(es)

On behalf of the International Budokai/Honbu Kamakura, we are very happy to invite you to participate in the “34th Open European Championships Kyokushinkai Karate.”
The championship will be held on March 15th, 2026, and is open for all styles regardless of degree and organization.

Date: Sunday, March 15th, 2026
Place: Sporthal Hellas
Address: Laan van Poot 353, The Hague
Start: The hall opens at 9.00 hrs.

Weighing: Sunday, March 15th, 2026, 9.00 hrs till 10.00 hrs (with passport/ID card)

Referees: under the auspices of SKN

Fighter/Coach fee: All fighters have free entry (2 coaches have free entry).
Per weight division, there is a maximum of 2 fighters per dojo/country.
Foreign participants: think about your VISA!!!!!!!

There will be fights in the next categories:

European Championships Kyokushin Men:
-75kg, -85kg, +85kg

European Championship Kyokushin Women:
-65kg, +65kg

Junior Cup Kyokushin boys / girls:
age 10+ matchmaking

Veteran Cup Kyokushin Men / Woman:

OECKK KYOKUSHIN RULES

01) Rounds:

- round 1: 2 minutes

- round 2: 2 minutes

Scoring

A knockdown is rewarded with a wazari

2 wazari’s result in an ipon.

If the participant who suffers the knockdown can not recover within 5 counts, this will immediately result in a ipon.

A knockout always results in a ipon.

An ipon ends the match.

Arbitrage

There are 3 judges + 1 head referee during every match throughout the whole tournament.

The head referee is responsible for the course of the Fight.

The 3 judges are responsible for the judging of the Fight.

02) The matted area for the fights shall be in the ring.

03) No protection is allowed other than a groin guard and a mouthpiece. A groin guard is mandatory!

Women only cups, NO chest Plate !

04) A participant only wins by knockdown, knockout, or by decision by the referees.

05) Techniques allowed:

- Punches and elbows to the body

- Knee techniques to the body, legs and head

- Kicks to the body, legs and head

- Throwing- and sweeptechniques followed by an authorized technique

- Grabbing the opponent for a split second is allowed for striking, throwing, or leg techniques.

06) Prohibited techniques: lead to Hansoku (official warning) and Shikakku (disqualification).

- Any attack on an opponent's head, face, groin, or neck with an open hand, fist, or any part of the arm.

- Kicks to the groin, straight kicks to the kneecap

- Head thrusts or butts

- Any attack to an opponent's back spine

- Strikes or kicks to a downed opponent, unless the attack or strike immediately follows a sweep or downing technique, in which case there is no contact allowed

- No one may attack while the opponent is down.

- Failing to obey the referees' instructions during a match

- Frequently retreating from or out of the contest area or moves that waste time

- Persistent bad behavior or violence.

07) Minimum age of the participants must be 18 years.

08) This competition is for men and women.

09) This competition is open for any grade or style.

10) Rules can be adjusted during the competition.

11) Only two persons are allowed at the ring area during the fight in a training suit without headgear like a baseball cap, etc.

12) It is NOT allowed to enter the sporthall and/or the ring with national symbols (country flag) and/or symbols of religion.

The organization/IBK reserves the right to change the tournament rules.
